Priesthood Sunday
- Priesthood Sunday, celebrated on the last Sunday of September annually, is a special day set aside to honor priests in the United States.
- It is a day to reflect upon and affirm the role of the priesthood in the life of the Church as a central one.
- This nationwide event is coordinated and sponsored by the US Council of Serra International.
Suggested Intercessions:
1. For the Clergy: May our pope, bishops and priests continue to minister in humble justice and faithful service. Let us pray to the Lord.
2. For nations and their governments: May they hear the call to work toward peace, justice and equity between one another and for the people they serve. Let us pray to the Lord.
3. For all who have suffered abuse: May those who have suffered abuse find strength, hope and peace. Let us pray to the Lord.
4. For an increase in religious vocations: May men and women respond to the Christ’s call to serve the Church in the priesthood, diaconate or religious life. Let us pray to the Lord.

NOVENA PRAYER TO ST. MONICA
Feast Day: August 27
In empathy to the pain of so many mothers that hurt because their beloved children are no longer practicing the faith that they received in their baptism, we share this novena with parishes so that they may offer it to their parishioners.
This novena is under the patronage of Saint Monica, Mother of Saint Augustine. Saint Monica was a mother of faith that persisted in prayer and action for the conversion of her wayward son. Her obstinate son tried to resist her pleas, kind words, and loving actions for so many years but Saint Monica never gave in to despair. Rather, she hoped in the goodness of God.
Therefore, let us hope and offer up our prayers, with Saint Monica, to our loving God. We invite people to pray this novena starting on August 19 and conclude on August 27. This novena can be prayed at any time.

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
You are invited to a potentially life-changing experience! On September 28, 2024, at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels Conference Center, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles will host Rescue Live! with ACTSXXIX.
Rescue Live! is an amazing opportunity for three things, hopefully, to happen: first, to be overwhelmed by the power of the Gospel; second, to surrender our whole lives to Jesus in faith; and third, to be mobilized for mission, because we were born for these days in which we are living. We are not alive by chance; God chose us to be alive for this very time.
This experience is for anybody and everybody—for people who have never been inside a church, for people who have left the church, and for people who go to church. Come as you are! The day will include powerful preaching, praise and
worship, and warm hospitality.

Rescue Live! will help us understand again (or for the first time) the answers to four big questions: Why is there something rather than nothing? Why is everything so obviously messed up? What, if anything, has God done about it? And if he has done anything about it, then how should I respond?

2024 Regional Congress
On May 9, 2024, Pope Francis released the Bull of Indiction Spes non confundit (“Hope does not disappoint”) announcing the Ordinary Jubilee Year of 2025.
The Jubilee will begin in Rome on the vigil of the Lord’s Nativity, December 24, 2024, and in local dioceses on Holy Family Sunday, December 29.
It will conclude in local dioceses the following Holy Family Sunday, December 28, 2025, and in Rome on the Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord, January 6, 2026.
