In every parish, the celebration of the Eucharist and the sacraments stand at the heart of our life of faith. In these sacred liturgies, we encounter
Jesus Christ most profoundly and are formed as His Body.
Through the liturgy, God is worshipped and we are sanctified.
For this reason, the Church calls us to give prayerful and thoughtful attention
to how we celebrate so that the liturgy may truly reflect
its own beauty, dignity, experience of God's grace, and the mind of the Church.
We encourage every parish in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles to
establish (or renew) a Parish Liturgical Committee.
This committee plays a vital role in helping the entire parish
community participate more fully and enter more deeply into the Church’s liturgical celebrations. It also serves as an advisory body to the Pastor, Administrator, or Parish Life Director (PLD).
The Office for Divine Worship is open to meeting (via Zoom) with parish liturgical committees for questions and guidance upon request.
